Back-to-School Drive Supports 1,200 Pupils Across Rural Schools
In its unwavering commitment to quality education and child welfare, the Space Community Development Initiative (SCDI) successfully executed a large-scale Back-to-School Drive that supported 1,200 pupils across underserved rural communities in Kogi State and Nigeria at large.
The initiative aimed to reduce school dropout rates by addressing one of the major barriers facing children from low-income families — lack of basic school supplies. For many of these children, returning to school would not have been possible without this timely intervention.
🎁 What We Delivered
Each child received a full package of essential learning materials, which included:
Hygiene kits (toothbrush, toothpaste, and soap)
Quality school bags
New school uniforms
Exercise books and writing materials
Durable sandals
📸 Community Impact
The joy on the faces of pupils, parents, and teachers was overwhelming. Many children wore school shoes for the first time, while others hugged their school bags tightly with excitement. School attendance increased significantly in the days following the distribution.
Local community leaders expressed deep appreciation, noting that the initiative helped bridge the educational inequality gap and brought renewed hope to families.
